Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 4x10, 20:30-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience, with Scrub and OR Circulator experience. Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred. License: Current RN License eligible for Missouri Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Must-Have: - 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience - Scrub and OR Circulator experience - Highly motivated self-starter personality Job Description: - Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care - Maintain professional accountability for patient care provision - Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers - Coordinate patient care with other departments - Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information - Perform duties in line with mission, values, and service standards - Deliver direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments - Function within the scope of nursing preparation and guidelines of nursing practice Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications - Demonstrated clinical expertise in the area of responsibility Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: - Standing and walking most of the time on duty - Lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and wheelchairs - Typically work in a clean, air-conditioned area - Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
