is checked regularly.**Overview: The Echocardiographer is a skilled
person qualified by technological education to provide patient
services using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a
doctor of medicine responsible for the use and interpretation of
ultrasound procedures. Assist the physician in gathering
Echocardiographic data necessary to reach diagnostic decisions.
Performs related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent and one
of the American registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
prerequisites for education and required clinical experience.
- Certifications: Requires a registry or registry eligible status
with the ARDMS. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS
Heartsaver Card or obtain within probationary period.
- Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Echocardiography is a
highly skilled allied health profession requiring judgment and
capability in assisting the delivery of health care as it relates
to this modality. Responsible for reviewing the pertinent patient
history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum
diagnostic results, including performing the appropriate procedures
that provide a sonographic record of the anatomical, pathological,
and/or physiological data necessary for interpretation by a
physician. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements:
This individual must be capable of walking long distances,
transporting ultrasound equipment, and assist in lifting patients.
